The VC-8100 series of vacuum coater is an entry-level coating system intended for coating long linear parts such as mouldings. Parts are conveyed through an application chamber where they are immersed in coating. As the parts exit, the vacuum strips the coating off to the desired mil thickness. The VC-8100 series is designed for speeds up to 300 FPM—depending on part size. Systems are also available for applications of 100% UV coatings.
AES vacuum coaters are designed in four modular sections for maximum versatility in any finishing line. The Application Chamber is the only section mounted directly in the finishing line. The receiver tray is mounted to a portion of conveyance, usually a Linear Stock Feeder. The parts are fed through profile templates located on the infeed and outfeed of the head. Several types of heads are available for coating all sides, three sides, or edges only.
The Separator Chamber is connected to the Application Chamber by a hose and can be located several feet from the conveyance line, allowing full access around the components. This section removes the coating from the air during operation and returns it to the integrated reservoir. This is achieved using a series of special baffles and filtration to remove the coating from the air before it reached the vacuum pumps. The reservoir has a 15-gallon capacity and is available with an automatic filling system for non-stop production runs.
The Vacuum Producer section consists of a single or multiple pump arrangement to develop the required high vacuum capacity. The size and number of pumps is dependant of the speed and part size required for your application.
The Fluid Delivery System is a fluid pump and filtration system used to deliver coating from the reservoir to the application chamber. A ½” diaphragm pump is used to deliver coating to the head. Dual fluid filters are available for periodic cleaning without stopping production.
