The L200 and L400 Series Sanders have horizontal sanding spindles and vertical sanding spindles. It finishes, sands, and seals work pieces such as mouldings and strips.
The counter-rotating horizontal spindles are mounted on a common plate and slide assembly. The horizontal sanding spindles are placed above the roller conveyor to sand the top or upper surface of the parts. The horizontal spindles adjust up/down by hand crank for different part thickness as well as abrasive wear. The hand crank has a locking mechanism to prevent the head from moving down from vibration. Each horizontal spindle has its own 1 HP motor. The horizontal spindle plate tilts downward up to 15 degrees.
The vertical spindles are placed on either side of the roller conveyor and rotate against the feed direction to sand the sides or edges of the parts. The front and rear spindles adjust up/down on slotted plates for even wear of abrasives. The front and rear spindles adjust in/out by hand cranks for different part widths and abrasive wear. Each vertical spindle has its own HP motor and tilts up to 45 degrees. There is a counter-pressure roller across from the rear sanding spindle.
The roller conveyor speed is powered by two AC gearmotors. The conveyor bed height is fixed in order to maintain a constant pass height. There are full-width pressure rollers on a common bar to ensure non-slip movement through the machine. This bar is fastened at two points and adjusts up/down by hand crank. This allows quick height adjustment of all pressure rollers.
